Russian agate is a variety of dendritic agate that features the characteristic tendrils of dark color in an otherwise neutral stone. This type of agate is sometimes called “tree agate” because the shapes that form often look like branches or roots. Agate has been used in protective amulets by Neolithic people from ancient times.

Agates are still often used to promote self confidence and as a talisman for meditation.
