First Snow Fall Contest!
The first snow fall contest is back at SwellColors! Predict the date of when the first snow fall on Long Beach Island (at least 1 inch of snow) will be! Email predictions to Mary@swellcolors.com before November 12 to be entered in the contest! Contest not valid if snow fall occurs before November 12. Winner will receive a stained glass snowflake made by SwellColors (a $50 value).

UGLY SWEATER CONTEST!!
Break out that ugly Christmas sweater! SwellColors is holding it's first ever UGLY SWEATER CONTEST! Stop by the shop dressed in your finest ugly Christmas sweater to have your picture posted on the SwellColors Facebook, or post your own picture on the SwellColors Facebook page. The ugly sweater picture with the most "likes" by December 21 will win a set of 3 fused glass Christmas ornaments (a $60 value).

**Only one picture per person allowed.

SwellColors will be hosting it's second annual Santa's Workshop starting after Thanksgiving! Drop in between 10am-4pm Thursday through Monday to make holiday goodies for the family!

Fused ornaments: Make 3 ornaments for $50 using fusable glass. Projects must be picked up a few days later.

Holiday Themed Mosaics: Drop in to make a mosaic star, Santa head, or tree! Mosaics are $50 each.

April 1, 2011 7-9PM. Head to the Lighthouse at the Tuckerton Seaport AND the NJ Surf Museum to see some amazing artifacts, cultural happenings, and gorgeous fine art. Work by many of the artists we carry at SwellColors will be featured in the Lighthouse as well as a mixed media painting on copper sheet by artist Mary Tantillo. This reception is usually draws a fun crowd of talented people. Delicious refreshements are served. Cost is $10.

On April 1, 2011 be sure to come see the Women's Surf Exhibition at the New Jersey Surf Museum at the Tuckerton Seaport & Baymen's Museum. Women have played an integral part in New Jersey's surf history and culture. Work by surfer and glass artist Mary Tantillo will be on display as well as many other acclaimed artists. Historical artifacts, cultural artwork and objects, and photographs will be on display through September. The reception is from 7pm - 9pm. You will surely enjoy live music by featured surfer Mary Frack, refreshments, and good times.

On July 30th through August 1st, SwellColors Glass Studio in Haven Beach is celebrating the completion of the “100 Waves of Summer” stained glass series. Four years ago, glass artist Mary Tantillo began the series, which was inspired by the ocean and waves as a metaphor for life. Each stained glass panel in the "100 Waves of Summer Series" is a limited edition of five panels per day of summer. There are actually only 95 days in summer, so the series continues into autumn; a beautiful time of year.

This weekend the completed “100 Waves of Summer” series will be on display for the public to view. On Saturday, New Jersey musician Cat Cosentina will be performing, and Sunday afternoon starting at 3pm, there will be a jam session with Marla and Julian, and Matt Huston. Long Beach Island Artists Open Studio Tour

Stop by any time during normal business hours and make your own glass beads! AWESOME!! _You will make 3 gorgeous beads_with our hands on guidance using Italian Effetre (Morretti) glass. Green Up, Clean Up Long Beach Island
SwellColors is participating in Long Beach Island Business Alliance's First Annual Green Up Clean Up (GUCU)! Along with local businesses and volunteers from the community, we will be cleaning up the streets of LBI on Saturday, April 25 from 9am - 12pm. Stop by SwellColors for garbage bags and gloves to help you dispose of the trash. SwellColors will also have refreshments and friendly smiles for all the volunteers. Taking the "Clean Up" one step further, we will be giving each volunteer who stops by our gallery wearing the GUCU bracelet a couple sunflower seedlings as a thank you.

If you are in the area, we encourage you to come out and help keep LBI beautiful. Volunteers will receive beaded GUCU bracelets that are good for promotions island-wide and a chance to win 1 of 100 free lunches at Dark Star Cafe.
